Our Initiatives.

  • 2023-2024 Goal

This year we are hoping to improve our outdoor spaces. Details to come! Please join us at our monthly meetings to participate in these decisions and vote on your favorite options!

  • Kiln

We are so happy to report we were able to purchase a new kiln for our Art room. Each child was able to make and take home a clay project using this kiln in the Spring of 2023 and we’re so excited to see what creations come home in the upcoming school years!

  • Picnic Tables

In 2022-2023 we focused our efforts on more outdoor seating next to the cafeteria. We added three additional tables fora total of 6.

  • Laminator

In the 2021-2022 school year, we were able to get the staff a functioning, reliable laminator. Teachers use this very often throughout the year, and it has been a huge help to their efforts in supporting our students in the classroom.

  • Technology

Over the past few years, PTO has purchased Promethean boards, Ipads, Stylus pens, and headphones.

  • Water Stations

A couple of years ago we were able to add refillable water bottle stations in the school. This is a really great way for our kids to stay hydrated, reduce plastic waste, and learn about environmental efforts!

  • 'Special Extras'

Throughout the year we are able to treat the kids to a Kona Ice snack, popsicle day, etc for outstanding fundraising participation, great behavior, or winning other challenges throughout the year. We also provide the students taking PSSAs with mints, gum, and lozenges.

  • Scholarships/Awards

Every Spring we give 2 Beverly Paris awards to gradating 4th Grade students.

We also give 2 scholarships in the amount of $1,000. These go to a college freshmen, who attended Robeson as a child, wrote an essay about their most memorable time at REC, and maintained a 3.5 GPA in their first year of college.

  • Library Program & Nature Center

With our Library Program, we are able to replace old books with new, support the book fairs, and pay for One Book, One School in the Spring.

We have donated a raised garden bed (in 2022) as well as other supplies each year for the Garden Club/Nature Center that runs for 4 weeks in the Spring and Fall.

  • School Event Support

Every November we offer support during the Veteran's Day Program. In October we support teachers, through homeroom parents, for Halloween parties. In December we open a Holiday Shop and have a Holiday celebration evening.

In the Spring, we gift the kids a sapling for Earth Day and help run games at Field Day.

  • Fun Fest

Fun Fest is our massive yearly project. It is our Robeson version of a town carnival. We have games, prizes, raffles, food, and tons of fun!

This is a great fundraiser and a really fun time for the whole community to celebrate the successful school year together.

  • In the Classroom

Each year we classroom teachers with a “Homeroom Parent”. This parent will help the teachers with needs throughout the year. The amount they do depends on the teacher and what their needs are.

  • Yearbook

Throughout the year we support the yearbook committee by taking photos of events, field trips, and classroom parties.

We have also gifted every student in the school a yearbook in recent years.
